Hi all,

I have stage 4 breast cancer. I am thinking about alternative treatment. Does anyone know of any successful alternative treatments that don't cost an arm and a leg? They may not exist but wanted to ask. Has anyone heard of Hoxsey Bio-Medical center in Tijuana, Mexico?

Hi Sue, there are many alternative and integrative treatments that can be helpful, yet not guaranteed.  There are facebook groups about Hoxsey and other clinics in Mexico.  There is also a book about alternative cancer treatment in Mexico available on amazon that would be very helpful in decision making.  Also check out shannon knight's website.  There are great integrative/alternative clinics in the US, but unfortunately they do cost alot.

Good luck!

Thank you for your input, very much appreciated! The main reason more people who have cancer are turning to Mexico is that of the cost factor. Even there it does cost but often not as much as here in the US.

Hey Susie,

first of all, my deepest condolence for you.

for the topic, I've been reading and following the patient stories over at https://veritalife.com/testimonials/. I heard they're opening in Baja, Mexico soon.

good luck.

Hi Susie, Just wondering what you ended up doing. Did you check out the Hoxsey Clinic? I definitely would. I had breast cancer several years ago and had chemo and double mastectomy and I think if I had to do it over again I would look at alternatives therapies. Suzanne Somers wrote a book called Knockout and it's all about alternative therapies and she interviewed a lot of doctors. I found it really interesting and promising. The reason it's tough to get the message out about alternative therapies is because the pharmaceutical companies have a lot of $$$$ to lose if people don't go the conventional route of chemo and radiation. I hope you are doing well!! Lucia

@LuciaB You hit on some very good things. I agree the more a place does the more the Pharmas and others set out to attack. Gets really hard for patients to know what is real reviews and what is slanderous to keep people from going.  Jesicha's Hope has its fair share and after someone volunteered to track posts it ended up going straight to a clinic we would not list as having good results.  I know one cancer centre in the Philippines realizing insurance won't pay for most people dropped the price for people to over 1/2. Wondering what Susie ended up doing.
