Prostate cancer treatment option

My dad is 70 and diagnosed with prostate cancer. his Gleason score is 9, PSA 58 and grade 5 prostate cancer. Biopsy shows >95% cancer cells in prostate gland. Cancer has not spread anywhere yet except seminal vesicle and prostate capsule.
We have visited few doctors for opinion. Few of them suggested RT plus ADT. Few of them suggested surgery to remove Prostate/seminal vesicle followed by radiation if needed. We are in dilemma. I read medical white papers that said that both have equal prognosis but still looking for the best option for my dad. Please share your thoughts and treatment suggestions based on your experience. Thanks.

With a Gleason of 9 the odds that the cancer is encapsulted are slim. To have a wider range of treatment Rt would give it to him. thats my 2 cents since my situation was similar. Plus if had surgery he would probably need additional treatment if it is not encapsulated, like hormones and RT anyways, that was my thought when I choose RT 13 years ago.

Thank you for all you valuable suggestions. My dad is to undergo RT+HT. But before that doc has advised him to undergo TURP as he has difficulty urinating. I was thinking that HT can shrink the tumor and will improve the urinary problem but now it looks like he has to undergo TURP before RT+HT. Could you please let me know the following?

1. What are the side effects of TURP? Has anyone undergone TURP before RT+HT?

2. After TURP, how long does it take to start the actual RT+HT treatment and is it fine to wait till TURP wound heals in my dad's case as his is locally highly advanced?

If it were me,  I would  want ADT to begin immediately, followed in a month by da Vinci prostatectomy, then radiation. If you live in Florida, have Dr. Patel use the da Vinci to get that prostate out.
