Checking in one year later to say thanks

Hello everyone. I haven’t been on the board in probably close to a year. I had TT and i131 in November and December 2017 for papillary thyca. I kind of felt like I wanted to distance myself from the hardest time I’ve had in my life, but being 1 year post, I’m feeling great and wanted to just hop on and say hi and maybe give encouragement to anyone who is going thru this now. It gets better! I actually feel so much better than I did, minus some weight gain (mostly my poor choices). I never realized how much my thyroid nodule was affecting my swallowing, until I could swallow so smoothly. It’s scary, it’s depressing and it’s lonely during the time of diagnosis, surgery, therapy and recovery. I also wanted to thank everyone who gave me words of encouragement and answered all my questions and concerns, knowing you all have probably answered them a hundred times before with every member who finds their way here. Everyone was so nice to me, welcoming and helpful. Thank you all. I specifically remember “butterfly” and “toddlerfather” being so knowledgeable. Thank you!

Awesome news!

3 years next week since my diagnosis so I understand where you are coming from.

May God bless you richly!

Thank you for replying! My dad is 4 months with this cancer and keeps getting set backs. He is now in the hospital with E. Coli and bowl infection. He keeps losing blood and getting transfusions. He may have a leak in one of his arteries in his back. His feet, legs and face are very swollen. He’s retaining a lot of fluids and also has a cough. He’s in the CEU unit. I can’t stand to see him like this. He’s 74 was very very active& refused to retire. Now he’s laid up in a hospital bed and will be there for some time, he’s not in good shape and doesn’t speak much when I visit him. He’s depressed and it’s killing me. I don’t no what else to do for him. It’s so hard! Thank you for checking in! It’s deeply appreciated and god bless you and be strong! ?? Val Staten Island
