Hi. My name is Destiny. My husband and & I were just diagnosed with multiple germ cell tumors of the brain. He is only 25-years old. One is located in the pineal gland and the other in the pituitary gland. His medical diagnosis is Malignant Neoplasm of pineal gland, intracranial Germinoma. As imagined he was been persistent with many symptoms. The main is he developed diabetes insipids and also erectile dysfunction. We start treatment in a week. He will be receiving two types of chemo therapy. The first is Etoposide and the other is Carboplatin. He will receive a total of 4-doses. The plan is after chemo to follow-up with radiation therapy. I have found this message board on accident but, I am looking for anyone who has dealt with or is going through this and can offer myself and my family some guidance. As you can imagine we are scared to death. We do not currently have any children and are very fearful his treatment will cause infertility. His oncologist has referred us to a reproductive clinic to look into banking his sperm. Is there anyone who has or is currently dealing with this form of brain cancer. Please message us.

Hello,my name is Eddie and I am a 30 year survivor from a germanoma brain tumor that was near the pineal gland. I first had  ventricle shunt placed on the left side of my bed to drain excessive cerebral fluid that was giving me migraine headaches. Roughly a week later, a brain biopsy  in which they found it to be a  cancerous tumor. I had five weeks of radiation and by six months, the tumor shrank to nothing. I ha two spinal taps to make sure the cancer did not spread. I had my first stroke 13 years later and a 2nd stroke 12 years after the first stroke. I have right side weakness and speech problems (aphasia) I also can't have children and also have the condition of diabetes insipidus. My email address is edwardmikaloff@yahoo.com.
