Sorry to interviene in this post, I have Thyroid cancer too, and my Thyroglobulin is 0.5 and the Thyroglobulin Antibodies are 106 (normaly should be under 2) but the dr said it should be not a concern as the nodule did not change in size from last year (9mm) even if last year teh TG was 26 and the TGAB 12. Not sure if that is of help but if is not and anybody has a bit of advise from their experience it will be appreciated. Thank you!

The problem with Thyroglobulin Antibodies is that they masquerade the Thyroglobulin levels. So the fact that TgAb when up and Tg went down makes the Tg levels not very informative anymore. TgAb are not a problem per se, just something making the diagnostic harder to reach.

Why do you say you have thyroid cancer ? Just having a nodule doesn't equate with cancer.

Thank you for the response and guidance. In 2016 I had half of the thyroid removed during a parathyroid surgery not for cancer. That half had a small nodule with papilary thyroid cancer, so discovered by accident. The surgeon said that the nodule on the other side may be of the same nature. He did not advice to remove it, but to activelly watch it. Thank you.

Since you have half of the thyroid, the Thyroglobulin measure wouldn't be much useful even without Tg Antibodies... Tg is useful as a marker after full thyroideictomy.

Although the nodule had PTC, previously there was not much attention until recently to classify tumors as NIFTP or not. So, it is not certain at this point that the nodule would ever become a threat.

The same applies to newly found nodule...

Thank you so much for the confirmation and teh good news. I will then follow the doctor advice on continuing watching it as long as the nodule is stable. Thank you!!
