Pregnant with kidney tumor

Hi! I am currently 25 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with a 6cm tumor on my right kidney about a month ago.  Trying to find anyone else out there that has been through this or is currently going through the same thing.

I saw 2 urologists and they both had different treatment plans. One said that he would suggest operating while pregnant and doing a radical nephrectomy.  The other said to monitor the growth and then operate post-natal.

I am very stressed out about this!

You should consult with an Oncologist.  Specifically one who has expertise in RCC. It's not always necessary to remove the kidney.

Your pregnancy complicates your treatment options. Many people have much larger tumors than you have before having a radical nephrectomy.  So you do have time to continue with the pregnancy.  I doubt that existing medications for RCC can be administered while pregnant.

Again, I would urge you to seek out an RCC specialist to consult with.  Try smartpatients.com for recommendations for an RCC specialist in your area. They have been incredibly helpful to myself.
