Stage 4 people how were you diagnosed?

In a nutshell I have routine scans for a benign kidney tumor. My most recent scan, an MRI, revealed a 5cm indeterminate liver mass. This was not there 9 months ago on a CT with contrast. Blood tests in late Nov were all normal. I have to go for a 3 phase liver CT now.

I had my first colonscopy 4 yrs ago and had 2 benign polpyps removed. It's impossible for me to infer anything from my bowel habits because I've had constipation my whole life and take linzess which gives me diarrhea.

I'm very worried of couse. Just wondering if anyone else was diagnosed through an incidental liver finding like I have.

A friend of mine was diagnosed via extremely large liver tumors, her primary was comparitively very small. My partner was diagnosed by again very large ovarian tumors, again with a comparitively small primary.
