liver bile duct cancer along with many infections after checmo

In july of 2018 my dad found out he had stage 4 liver and bile duct cancer( cholangiocarcinoma). It's a very aggressive and rapid cancer. And it's rare!...  That September he started chemo. He went for 1 chemo treatment and a week later he was in the hospital because he had gotten an infection. He spent about 2 weeks in the hospital and then once he  was strong enough he finished all his rounds of chemo. Shortly after we went to the dr for results and the tumor did not get any bigger but didn't shrink and that is what we wanted. So we saw a radiologyst and he was gonna be set up for radioation. He was so weak from the chemo and his ammune system was so low that he had gotted septic, c-diff, sepsis, E coli, and blood bactrial infection. He was on death bed. After 2 and a half months in the hospital he got a scan and the caner had now spread because he spent so much time in the hospital with infections his cancer went un-treated and it spread. They then in early February (last month) gave him a month more of life. He is now at the end of his life as i type this right now. He has all the signs for approaching "end of life" it's terrible. We are so devastated, he's 74 years old. He was a builder he was very very active man who refused to retire. He loved to work and now he has disintegrated the last 2 months. He is all bones, thin, pale, fluid in his feet, if i can help anyone or you have any questions please ask, don't hesitate. Good bless you all and keep fighting! don't give up!

i need to mention in the middle of him being sick he did go for a second opinion, he was told the same thing. I feel a second maybe 3rd opinion is best

My husband has bile duct cancer and his chemo treatment was stopped last August  since then he has been admitted to hospital several times with infection. He has been in the hospice now for 2 weeks  to regulate his medicines and again suffered rigors last Sunday.  We are fortunate having the local hospice for support. It is devastating to watch the suffering he is going through but have been told to expect bouts of infection.

Yes my dad was in the hospital one time for 2 months with sepsis, then E. coli, the c-diff, it was one infection after the other and because his cancer went untreated it has spread. He’s is at the end of his life. He cannot walk, eats very little, lost bowl control and bladder too. He is confused and doesn’t understand things when you talk to him. If I go see him he will forget I was even there. He has deteriorated so quickly, he’s all bones.. it’s sonsad to see this. My dad was very active. Now he is bed ridden and depends on us for everything. I took paid family leave to spend his final days with and also help my mom because it’s hard for her to do this herself and my mom also had radiation in September for lung cancer. It’s just a vicious cycle. Keep in touch! Please! I wish you the best and I wish you strength! ?? Val Staten Island

The rigors is from the infection, my dad gets them and it’s bad.. we give him an electro blanket and that seems to comfort him..

Hello fighters, and bless you. I have been writing about my dads liver bile duct cancer journey for A few months now. Sadly to say he passed away Saturday March 23rd, 2019 @ 10:04am. The cancer just ate him for the inside out he truly put up a fight. Our hospice nurse Kelly said he loves us so much he’s hanging on and fighting for us. In his condition most patients like that would have expired 2 weeks prior to yesterday. He was determined to fight until he couldn’t no more. He just did not want to leave us. He went throug a lot with biopsy and scans and procedures at least 9 of them for the liver drain and bag. 2 weeks prior to his passing he was confused and sometimes stared at us when someone would walk in the room but didn’t talk. He could not. He could hardly breath. He was bed ridden from November 2018 to January 31 2018/2019He was to weak to talk. He had some hallucinations And they were work related all of them. It’s where he was happy running properties taking care of his business that was an hour and 20 minutes drive that he didn’t mind doing. His properties meant very much so to him. I’d always say dad please retire & he’d say “ I’ll retire when I’m ready to die and I’m not going anywhere “ and I said ok dad but maybe slow down just a bit. He’s 74 years old born August 1944. He was one of those guys who had patients gentile but he didn’t take ?? from no body either. He would never do that to someone. Well I will be more than happy if you want to discuss this.. my email is valoo126@yahoo.com. I was there his final week, days, hours and minutes. I will help you to what to expect, what the body does. What sounds to listen too,and I will answer any questions. Bless you fight until you can’t anymore.. because it’s ok if you can’t ????

I lost my father from gallbladder cancer 2 months ago due to sepsis caused by ascites. His condition was otherwise improving using homeopathy pills... plz try them as it helped him from pain, appetite issues and if not for infection.. he would have lived few more years is my thought with those homeopathy pills. also, high dose of simplex c high vitamin c may help. Salvestrol to get him strong and better

Just read your last message after sending the message.. very sorry to hear of the loss. My father was also very much like yours... never accepting defeat, rock solid personality, he put on the fight for 2.5 years with this nasty cancer.. born 1944 too what a coincidence and he never quit working until the last day of going into the hospital... writing books was his passion. I can imagine your pain as I am still grieving on my fathers loss, 2 months ago. I wish there is a cure for these rare cancers and people like our fathers are not lost to it. It’s very painful and the 3-4 days he spent in the hospital don’t seem to flush out of my head. He kept resisting the life support as he complained of breathlessness and we lost him due to a heart failure caused by sepsis.

I no your pain, my dad too had spsis anf c-diff & fungial blood infection. with this type of cancer sadly infections are common. My dad was diagnosed in july 2018 doctors told him 6-9 months and he lived 8 months. The last 3 weeks were hell. Just to watch him starve for air, vanishing  and he was so confused about things. He had a DNR. it was such a sin to watch him go through. I cry everyday, every single day. i have good days, bad days and really bad days. It's hard to grasp. My mom just got her results and she is cancer free thank god! she had lung cancer 10 years ago and just this year it came back but she was able to get help and be saved.. wish my dad could have been saved. It's hard without him, He was my rock. Thank you so much for writting to me!! i am still gonna check in here maybe i can help someone. I wish you luck and strength
