Pre and post surgery meals?

 Hello,

My surgery is in 4 days and I have been asked to eat light 48 hours prior and a soft non-constipating diet my first week home.

Can anyone tell me what they ate during these times? I am a detail person and do not like being given these generic meal choices.

First of all, are you having a radical prostatectomy? I had one in May of 2018. Following the surgery, I was eating a good amount of tomatoes, salmon, tofu, steamed vegetables, beans (black, pinto), tofu with vegetable soups, miso soup. I stayed away from dairy and meats. I now eat some fish and occasionally chicken but am trying to eat mostly vegetarian. I have pretty much eliminated most dairy products. I switched over to unsweetened soy milk. The transition was not too bad and now I really like it.

Best of luck with your surgery. I wasn't thrilled with the urinary catheter but it was time limited. Overall, not too bad. Keep us informed with your progress if you like.
