Has anyone ever looked into alternative natural treatments to hydroxyurea?I've recently researched  and found Salvia miltorrhiza, aka DanShen,Red sage root powder that is supposed to be more effective than hydroxyurea and less destructive to our liver and kidneys. Studies have found that it is actually better at reducing platelet counts than hydroxyurea!

My wife took Hydrea for years and switched to Anagrelide. She began using 100 mg red palm Tocotrienol twice a day resulting in platelets returning to normal levels. Suggest you use liposomal vitamin C three times a day. It's a Jak2 inhibitor. Also use 12 mg Astaxathin twice a day and high absorption curcumin two to three times a day, they inhibit Jak 2. Magnesium taurate prevents platelets from sticking together better than asprin and doesn't cause bleeding. Use 425 mg a day with 9 mg of boron.  Please note supplements also used in this link.

It's important to be agressive at this stage to prevent progression. Check with your doctor before using supplements but research them in the meantime.

Also to note, for the high absorbing curcumin, forms that are hydro-soluble are the forms that absorb better.  And, yes, check with your doctor on all new supplements.
