Lupron side effects

My question is: how long does it take before the side effects from the Lupron injection to show up and how long does it take for the testosterone levels to drop to the point of no libido?

My father has been on Lupron for 3 years. For the first 6 months he said "he didn't feel anything except for tender nipples".

My dad is 83, a VERY active, cool, strong man. However, the biggest issue in the last year has been his sleep deprivation from hot flashes, and "leg jitters", and "racing brain".

One of the best people that he has spoken with that has helped and I connected him is Dr. Geo Espinosa in New York. We live in Michigan, but I urge you to connect with and follow Dr. Geo. He's a GREAT MAN and does patient phone calls for out of state people. He is a specialist in treating mens health issues including prostate, ED, incontinence and other mens health issues. My parents have done 2 phone calls over the last 6 months and they love him and he's helped !

That's a good question and I'm sure that everyone reacts differently to it. Pre-surgery I was on injections for testosterone so mine was a nice high number and felt amazing.  Post-surgery I started right away with Casodex to get things started, then 1 year of Lupron.  I noticed right away the effects of my T dropping like a rock, mainly because it was high before. I felt like I got pushed out of a plane. What's weird is that I never had hot-flashes which surprised my doctors, but depression and zero energy, zero sex drive and hard to focus at work. I felt like I was dragging a boat behind me all the time. I was tearful all the time too.  I couldn't wait to get off of it...but it did its job which I'm thankful for!!

3 years later my PSA is undetectable and my T is back to hovering around 300.  <thumbs up>
