Question about carcinoid

I was diagnosed in 2001 with carcinoid cancer.  I was told I have it in the intesting area and live.  I had surgery with the doctors taking everything out that could.  I have recently changed doctors (due to travel time and not feeling comfortable with the present doctor).  This doctor did test that were never done on me before (24-hour urine test and a Ocertide Scan).  He found that my liver is full and my spleen is full of tumors.  My question....would this cause major pain in my arm?  I do hurt in my mid area whick I figure that is from my cancer.

Hello,  I was diagnosed in April of 2007 and my primary was located in the Cecum of the large intestine.  I had 15" of the large intestine removed along with 7 lymphnodes, gallbladder and radio frequency ablations on 2 tumors on my liver.   I still have tumors that have grown and multiplied on my liver.  I am currently only on Sandostatin LAR 40 ml.  every 4 weeks but I never had pain in my arm.  the Octreoscan will light up any kind of tumors that the solution attaches to so it gives the doctors an idea of what to look for and how advanced the disease is.  The 5-HIAA Urine test determines the level of your Seritonin.  Mine was 5 times the amount of a normal human before I had the primary removed.  I would get to a support group as soon as you can.  You can gather so much more info about this crazy disease by asking what others have gone or are going through.  Every one is different and no 2 cases are the same.  I believe I am lactose intolerant but am afraid to try milk because I was getting terribly ill when I drank milk or ate any kind of dairy before I had the primary removed.  I am not sure if it was the tumor or if it is lactose intolerance.  I have learned to just avoid anything with milk which is not so easy. you should go to the website www.carinoid.com and click on the tab for "support groups" and then choose you closest area.
