Hi ,

I have just found this website, and send my prayers to all across this board.  I know the internet could be my worst enemy, and make me more stressed, but I wanted to reach out and see if anyone has any info. Besides, I could really use some support, I just feel so scard.    My mom was dx with atypical carcinoid of her lung, and it was in 3 lymph nodes. she just finished 33 days of radiation, 4 cycles on chemo 3days on 21 off.  When we went for her first ct scan, they foulnd a blood clot in her lung from the treatment.   Dr.s won't give her any stats , since it is so rare. The spots in her lung are small(2).  Any info would be great.  Before her neck x-ray 3 months ago(for arthritis)(found cancer by chance), she was very active and healthy.

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond.

My most pressing question would be - are you seeing a Carcinoid specialist or just a regular oncologist?  There are specialist that treat specifically carcinoid and I would highly recommend you getting a second opinion from one of those doctors.  Go the website  carcinoid.org and there are multiple links to physicians - my husband is being treated in Kenner LA - Dr. Eugene Woltering.  Best of luck to you
