Have a question about triple-negative breast cancer?

Ask medical oncologist, Dr. Dennis Citrin, about the unique challenges of this type of breast cancer and emerging research on new treatment options.

Post your questions in this thread. Dr. Citrin will provide answers in the winter issue of Cancer Fighters Thrive magazine, available October 1 here and through a free subscription: http://www.cfthrive.com/subscribe.aspx

Hi, I am a surviver of 2 years TNBC, stage 4, grade 3, 6.5 c tumor, metastatic.  It had spread to a couple of nodes and I had a spot in my lower neck.  I recieved neoadjuvant treatment of 4 every other week A/C and 12 weekly taxol.  Complete mesectomy.  They said after surgery, I had a full response. Then went on to radiation. What a bear!

My question is this.  I have had no test since my initial diagnosis.  My doctors say I will know if it comes back. Is this the regular course of treatment?

Driving me crazy.

Driving me crazy.

I had her2- breast cancer a year ago. Single mastectomy. 4 of 11 lymph nodes cancerous. I had chemo and then 28 days radiation. Follow up CT scan showed some spots in the lung but they didn't feel it was too much of a concern. However, they have since my surgery, followed those spots ( nodules) with 3 CT scans and a PET scan. My last scan shows the nodules are growing. The cancer has now metastacized to my lungs. Until I found out my last CT results last week, I felt like a million bucks. I don't believe you will know without tests. I Thought everything was wonderful. Now on Friday I am going to see how bad things are and if there is a course of treatment. Months ago they told me that lung cancer is in-curable. I notice that many lung surgeries seem to be done in the States but not many here in Canada. I just have no idea what awaits me on Friday. You should see someone who will do followup testing.
