I'm in the hospital - getting ready to have surgery this afternoon. Just gave a team of nurses and nursing students the 411 on carcinoid cancer and carcinoid syndrome. They've never met anyone with it and they came in and asked if I was up for telling them about it. :) What a great group! :)

Hello to all,

Have been having stomach pains for years and had reflux. Nothing really helped untill I became obstructed and needed an ng tube and had no bowel sounds.  Surprise I had a carcinoid a little bigger than a plum and it had swollen up and tipped over and could not flip back. They removed the tumor and 6 inches of colon, told me that was the treatment. I have now had this carcinooid, breast cancer and have multiple myeloma. I hope I now have had enough! My best to u all!  Gayle
