Hello you wonderful people out there. My road at the moment has had quite a few pot holes in it of latw so my chances of writing have been few. I'm sorry Lucy I didn't get to see you before you went to Rarotonga but I was in hospital feeling rather sorry for my self. I have had another stent put into my duodenum and am now on a special low fibre diet. I've been in and out of hospital and hospice so it has been a little tough but onwards and upwards again. You people still continue to inspire me and I love to read your messages. Are you in Auckland any time soon Lucy, I would love to see you. I don't think I have the strength to make it to Rotorua at the moment. Look forward to hearing from you all Much love Libby xxxx

Dear Libby, so happy you have managed to get to write and let me know how you are, I wouldn't feel bad about feeling sorry for yourself, I think you are more than entitled to feel that way, I find you very upbeat and positive and inspiring. This disease is a real challenge to us all, I'm just enjoying not letting it dominate my head space as much as I can, which is incredibly hard when pain and nausea are present.. Fortunately I am asymptomatic right now, although I have swollen lymphnodes in my armpit, which I'm keeping an eye on, but reluctant to go and get it checked out cos I'm feeling well otherwise and all the hospital will do is diagnostic to tell me what is going on. Which to be honest, I probably don't want to know. We had a fabulous trip to Rarotonga, I was perfectly well the whole trip and even gained some weight while away. Something that wouldn't have been the case had I chosen to do chemo I'm sure, in fact the entire trip wouldn't have been possible. Now I have happy memories to cherish. I'm only working one day a week Libby so I'd love to drive up to Auckland and visit you sometime, just let me know when you are up to it and I'll come. Lots of love to you, I think of you every day, and I hope you get to have some good days now the stent is in and working. I'm sure yu be very weakend after this stretch of time, but hopefully you can find some food that is compatible and enjoyable within your current diet that will give you your strength back. I never thought I'd gain weight again, but I have!!!! Cheers Lucy
