Info on VA recognizing link between Colon Cancer and Agent Orange

Hello-

My father died in 2009 of Stage IV Colon Cancer.  He was exposed to Agent Orange while he was fighting in Vietnam.  So far, we have filed claims without any success.  However, I just learned that the VA has recently changed their acknowledgment of the link between Agent Orange and Colon Cancer.  Apparently, they have now stated that they can neither prove nor disprove  the connection and in those cases the VA sides with the widow.

I am trying to help my Mom with getting her claim approved.  She is in serious need of financial help.  I cannot find any information other than what I have read on other message boards about widows recently winning their colon cancer claims.  Does anyone out there any any information on this recent change?  If so- where can I find info on the change or the language of the VA's recent acknowledgment?  The previous message board mentioned that the widow re-submitted her claim with various affidavits she found online from medical doctors who stated that there was a connection between colon cancer and agent orange.

Please, any information or help would be greatly appreciate by my Mom and I.  We have been fighting for years and if there is finally hope we need to know how to prevail.

Hello:

My husband died in 2001 as a result of colon cancer and he served 2 tours in Vietnam.

I have filed 5 claims thru VA after his death and my husband filed 2 claims before he died.

All have been denied.

If you can find any information about colon cancer being related to agent orange, please e-mail me.

don't know if it will be of any help but if you are on Facebook check out the page Agent Orange Okinawa. Joe is fantastic on keeping up with the latest stuff on herbicide exposure and VA. I helped my brother file a claim for herbicide exposure and diabetes this past summer and  he's now dx with colon cancer.  The government denies AO was ever used in Okinawa but they even have pictures of vets hauling and spraying with it around bases and ports everywhere. Good luck!

There are a number of us (widows) who have been in your mother's situation.  One of our group discovered a lawyer that has a very good track record where Agent Orange and Colon Cancer are concerned.  Her name and contact information are as follows: Katrina J. Eagle, Esq, Phone # 858-549-1561.  Before she takes your case, she will want you to send your father's complete medical records with the military to a doctor that she works with.  If Dr. Bagdade agrees, after reviewing these records, that you have a case she will contact you and offer to represent you.  She will let you know, at that time, how much she and Dr. Bagdade charge.  I will tell you that all of it is on contingency.  You will not be charged anything unless you win your case.  If you win your case, she will only ask for a percentage of the back pay that your mother is due.  She does not touch the monthly payment that your mother will receive.  I see that your post was dated Mar 6, 2013.  I am sorry that I have not responded sooner than this, but I only learned about Katrina earlier this year when I hired her to represent me.  She was successful with my appeal and I am sure that she can help your mother.  Good Luck!

Hello:  Dinazulu:

I am on my last denial for the last 8 times. I submitted 3 law suits that were won on behalf of the widows, plus I had an independent medical review completed on behalf of my husband medical records.      So my next step would be to contact Katrina Eagle, Esquire.

If you need any help, I can help you as I have 3 law suits that the widow's have won their DIC claims on behalf of their husband medical condition thru Katrina Eagle.
