Need Help Helping My Friend

Hi. My friend and I were planning on getting married and then he found out he has prostate cancer that has spread into his intestines. He has decided that it is too much to ask of me and is tired and just wants to let go and die. He said his doctor has told him that he is "pretty eat-up" and he is giving up. Is there anyone else out there that has been through this type of cancer or who is going through this type of cancer. Is there anyone who can give me some words of wisdom on helping my friend?

Tell your friend to call the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. They have done amazing treatments there. Good Luck. The phone number is 1-888-816-5122.

After I was diagnosed with cancer in May 2001, I started to research and I have since changed my diet and lifestyle. But the thing that helped me the most was taking up qigong. You need to try it to believe it, and it is something anyone can learn from books and video tapes. I should know, I started with a book, and 1 week later, I felt like a different person. I started in Sep. last year - my husband joined me. We have yet to miss a day's practice. Before I was diagnosed I used to have headaches and the flu. My husband used to have headaches and eyestrain. They are gone too. Here is a true story, and there are many more.. A Chain of Miracles In 1972, Teacher Lin Shua-Hua underwent surgery to remove a benign tumor in her throat. The tumor reappeared five years later, spreading to her esophagus. It was so painful that she couldn't eat solid food. In 1983, she underwent further surgery and lost her voice. Seven years later, the tumor reappeared and this time it was malignant, and she became immobilized and had to be fed intravenously. Eventually she weighed only seventy-nine pounds, a mere skeleton. "When the doctors told my husband that there was nothing more they could do for me, I gave up all hope of survival. I merely laid in bed, in terrible pain, waiting to die. "So when my son suggested that I learn ChiLel I was in no mood to listen. However, my son was so persistent that I finally agreed to try it. At first I needed three people to carry me to ChiLel practice, but after twenty days I was able to go there by myself. When my stomach began to hurt a lot my teacher reassured me that it was a good development, and that I was responding to chi. Incredibly, within three months I had regained my health! When I went back to my doctors for a checkup they couldn't believe their eyes, for I had survived against all odds." "Why was your son so persistent in persuading you to learn ChiLel?" "Because he himself had been cured of a strange illness. He used to wear gloves to school because his hands had many tiny flesh particles hanging from them. But after practicing ChiLel for fifteen days, his hands were cured." "In addition, my son told me that our ChiLel teacher had also been saved by ChiLel. In 1986 when Lao-shi came to our city, three quarters of her heart was not functioning and her skin was almost black. After listening to Lao-shi, she began to study ChiLel and recovered completely."

Colleen, I can only agree with the suggestion to call the Cancer Centers of America if you haven't done so already. I just went through HDR for my prostate cancer and although it hadn't spread like your friend's, I found the people there to be fantastic and heard so many stories from people who had been given up on. There is always hope. God Bless you both and hang in there. Best regards, Bill S.

Bill, Thank you for your uplifting message. God willing, my friend is supposed to come and visit for the Fourth of July. We are going to discuss his treatment options (his idea) and I plan on us calling CTCA in Seattle. I'm sure, from all I've read and heard, that we will receive alot of good information. thanks again. Colleen O.

Hi Colleen, First let me say that I hope your friend is doing well. Also I hope that you were able to find your way to CTCA. I am currently being treated at the CTCA in Zion, Illinois for breast cancer with local metastasis to lymph and I really feel like I am getting the best care for mind, body and spirit which is so important. I believe that your friend will benifit in so many ways. If you have gone to CTCA and your friend receives treatment there, please have him take advantage of all areas of care as this will help get through treatment with minimal side effects. I am a Certified Medical Herbalist and the Complimentary Care side of cancer treatment is very important, I feel. If you have any questions about CTCA or anything else, please e-mail anytime. I would also be willing to give you my phone number if you wish. Best of luck, Deb
