Is there anyone here who has not had a recurrence from larynx/vocal cord cancer after 3 years of being treated solely by radiation? Please share.

Thank you

Mine was not larnyx/vocal chord, but I have had no recurrence of throat cancer three years after radiation.  I had surgery to remove lymph nodes, but no chemo.  Don't know if that's helpful or not.  Best of luck to you!

patromano,

My cancer was the Base of Tongue cancer. I had surgery to remove the tumor and part of my tongue, followed by a neck disection. I was then treated with radiation for 6 weeks and no Chemo. The Cancer Team wanted to keep the Chemo as a back-up in the event I had a reoccurance which did not happen. Next week marks 9 years since that last treatment. I hope this is some help to you.
