Tonsil cancer generally did not cause pain by almost all who respond on CC.  What you are desribing would be seen by a bulging tonsil - rather than associatd with cancer.

Linda,

Are you on any meds for your heartburn?  You might want to check into that.  I don't think that heartburn is really related to tonsil cancer, but it can aggravate other GI conditions, even leading to or aggravating an esophageal condition that is considered precancerous.

A good medication that until recently was available only with a prescription for acid reflux is Nexium.  It is now available over the counter.

I had a slight problem with acid reflux post treatment due to meds and to difficulty eating but I never had a problem with it before my diagnosis of tonsil cancer.  Since Linda has not been diagnosed with cancer, I took her asking if it could be a symtom of tonsil cancer.  Acid reflux even if not associated with cancer can present health issues if not addressed.  I take one Dexilant daily now to prevent acid reflux which can later lead to esophageal cancer (according to my ENT).

luv n stuff

Thank you Diana..I really wasnt thing that the acid felux was connected to tonsil cancer. Im thinking I need to get my esophageal check because the same pain feels like the same in my tonsil..Ive been having issues for about 5 years when I eat my food it gets stuck, its a miserble thing. ugh just seems odd that Im having so much heartburn and plus my left tonsil is hurting a lot, some pain in the right one also but not as much as the left. I cant wait to go to my appointments I have one  on Dec 2nd with an ENT and then one with a Gastroenternterologist..Linda
