As you all know Mom was dx in October 2012 a failed whipple in November 2012 and given 3-6 months to live at the age of 76 she is now going to turn 78 in July of this year.  She has been on chemo since March of 2013 started late due to many complications. Today I spoke with her because she is vacationing in Florida with her brother. AS my husband keeps saying its a christmas miracle! I told my children that there grandmother is a true legacy and if they don't learn anything else, Learn and believe that the will to live is a powerful thing. That and thats were they get the phase "The fighting Irish"

Peace out my friends xo

Cathy

It has been two years this month since my whipple. I have almost recovered from chemo. I have not recovered from my whipple though. I am in pain 24/7 which gets 100 times worse after eating anything. If interested in more please subscribe to my blog at mylifewithcancer.net Thanks and good luck to all.

Cathy!  Excellent news about your Mom chalks up another one beating the odds!  This encourages all who come here in search for HOPE!  This coming July 4th weekend will mark my wife Annie's 3 year anniversary in her journey with inoperable stage 4 adenocarcinoma pancreatic cancer with metastisis to her liver.

The miracle in all this time is this, out of the last 34 months in this journey, 21 months of it found Annie in remission with no evidence of new or progressive metastatic disease and no tumor recurrence.  All chemotherapy treatments were discontinued.  When this first recurrence was discovered last January 2014, the cancer was showing activity in the lumbar area of her spine.  The primary sites of the initial diagnosis in 2011 (body of the pancreas and liver) to this day are still CANCER FREE!

Our consultants at Stanford and UCSF will not attribute "treatment" to Annie's success thus far, but divine intervention as the only explanation for this medical anomaly.

Cathy,,,,so great about mom,it is only right to give my news of chuck scan on the heading go 18 months and counting. Scan was good everything smaller yet. Doctor even said maybe his next visit he could have his port out. His only issue is now his kidney numbers are climbing and has to go to a kidney specialist. But yes these months were fighting months for life, and the positive definitely helped. We pray for everyone every night with this dreadful disease. God bless kathy
