Yup. A mass was found during a healthy heart scan in 2014, I had surgery to remove my thymus gland (at age 60)  in Apr. 2015.

I'm one of those "babies in the 1950's" who had my thymus gland irradiated, as it was thought to be too large, and could impede respiration. I knew that such babies were found to have thyroid cancer decades later, (I've had regular thyroid scans), but I had no idea that a tumor of the thyroid gland would show up!

A total thymectomy was done, (like open heart surgery) and the surgeon noted invasion into lung parenchyma and pericardial fat. I'm currently on a chemo regimen once every 3 weeks, and it isverydifficult. Official diagnosis for me is neoplasm of thymus gland .

I live in a far suburb of Chicago.
