I had my Whipple first in 2012, with a second one performed nine mo.later due to internal bleeding,  stomach had plastered itself to the remaining pancreas.  Dr. had to go back in thru original incision, cut things loose, suck out all of the old blood that had collected, and gave me two transfusions.   I have recovered so nicely, almost back to normal, power walk daily, take Zumba classes, do most of my housecleaning, still cannot push nor pull the vacume, other than that, do really well.   Had a tumor in my pancreatic duct, IPMN, with moderate dysplasia. Removed all of it, along with other things.   Both surgeries 12 days in intensive care, but given great attention by Doc. and staff at Univ. of Cincinnati hosp.   Now, after all this time, I am having some really bad pain along my insicion line, especially when going from a sitting position.  I am most certain it is from adheasians.  My question to you all is this, can anything be done for these disabling little devils, or are we just stuck with them?  I am trying to eat smaller portions as I have noticed following a big meal they really come on strong.  I see my surg. oncologist yearly, not due for a while, but may make appt. with my GI guy.  I really do not want any more surgeries, but nor do I want to end up with a blockage.  I do take Metamucil daily, as well as two softners, that keeps things moving for now, but wonder how much longer until they grow and close something down.  I must have quite a few as the pain is pretty wide spread, mostly on my right side.   thanks for any input on this.

I started having the cramps about 4 years post whipple. The pain is excruciating. I got some relief from activated charcoal, but they still dont know where the cramping is coming from. Im on Creon & Protonix which I suppose helps with digestion, but then all of my lpumbing has been re-routed from the whipple !
