Extra-pulmonary small cell cancer

Hi all I was diagnosed in July with small cell cancer of the oesphagus. I was told that this was a rare diagnosis as this type of cancer is a lung cancer primarily. I have 5 rounds of chemo completed and one to go and after my forth round I was tested and told that there was no cancer defected. Which is great! However my doctor says it is rare for this not to come back. I haven't asked if I am extensive stage or limited. The tumour is located in the lower part of the oesphagus and also in just one lymph node at the top of my oesphagus. Would this mean it is extensive since it is far away from the tumour site?? Also would anyone know how fast this thing could come back? I am a 35 year old female and really not ready to accept that this could be it for me. Thank you for reading ?? Cat

Hi Cat, my dad was diagnosed with extensive small cell carcinoma of unknown primary origin (suspect prostate). He has multiple rumors on his liver and bones (esp spine). I hope you are doing well and will say prayers for you. Good news is that this cancer is said to be very receptive to chemo. My dad is current.y undergoing chemo and radiation. Is your treatment similar? We are goi got University of Pennsylvania Hopsital.
