Immunotherapy anyone tried?

My dad has completed radiation, chemo, and surgery for head and neck cancer. The oncologist says the last option to help prolong the time is to try immunotherapy. The side-effects sound awful but I am wondering if it has helped anyone? Did you have side-effects? Thank you dearly in advance.

I don't have experience with immunotherapy, but would like to suggest you go over to the head and neck part of this site, as some of the folks there do.  Some people, like our dear ex president Jimmy Carter, have had spendid results with it, and I hope your husband does too.

From all I've read the side effects are not as bad as standard treatment.  The downside is that it does not work for everyone, and doctors don't know why.  But several drugs have very recently been approved for H&N, so he may be able to try another if the first one does not.

Best of luck to you both!
