My mother has Stage IV NSCLC and is on hospice. She's currently showing extreme decline in physical and mental state. She was diagnosed April of 2016 and already using a walker, now, she's bed bound, is seeing my father who passed in May of '15, incontinent, and is saying her goodbyes. BP is normal, heart rate low, and showing multiple signs of passing soon. She keeps asking how much longer she has, but I don't know for sure. I guess my question is how long in between these signs and passing does it take? Thank you in advance.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. It is so hard on everyone.

I think it is different for everyone, but I found that my dad took a significant turn when he started eating less and sleeping most of the day. Those were the things that ended up being signs of impending death.

I'd say that it was about one week between the full day sleeping/not eating and the end.

I'm so sorry.
