Reactive lymph node following parotidectomy

Ok, in August 2016, I had a complete right parotidectomy. The mass, 7.4 cm, was diagnosed as an oncocytoma with oncocytosis. Surgery was fine, no other treatment. It is now the end of March, and the lymph node under my right ear, as well as the incision and surrounding tissue, is still swollen. My endocrinologist did a sonogram in January, noted the swelling, but said that it was just a reactive lymph node. It still is swollen. My dad died last year with acute myeloid leukemia. Should I go back to endocrinologist, or just give it more time? Thanks Steve

Was the 7.4 cm mass benign?

It was not cancer, but was precancerous. I should have added, it started as a 1.9 cm mass in April. I also have rheumatoid arthritis, and take immune suppressants, namely methotrexate and simponi.

I had thyroid cancer but was curious about "oncocytoma with oncocytosis" finding, so I'm not much help for you.

Be well! Hopefully you'll conect with a same situation person.

Thank you. I had my thyroid removed several years ago, for a benign mass. I think I'm going to ask my internist to order some specific lab tests. If it is s lymphoma, it is a lie stage. And I definitely have not lost any weight. Steve
