I lost my husband December 6th 2012 to cancer.  Let no one tell us that we have time.  He had a short 9 month battle really. Many good days and had aggressive chemo and radiation.  Gregg had 1 brain metastisis that was removed and we thought we caught it early.  But that surgery and MRI did not reveal seeds of cancer in his brain that reappeared.  I did not know that an MRI can miss seeds of ...

I think hospice helps most definitely.  To live with an incurable lung cancer for 7 years is amazing.  I am sorry to hear that he is not well.  Suffering is so hard to watch. My husband is 54 and has stage IV lung cancer. We are still fighting and have hope.  They told us recently that hospice should be an option we consider.  They have nothing else to offer in modern medicine than Tarceva. &...

If I did not have my faith, I would be so lost with my loved one with Stage IV lung cancer and in the hospital right now. Your brother sounds sooo young.  my husband just turned 54.  I am not with out hope.  I want to try wholistic approach.  Flaxseed meal in 32 grams per day dose in a clinical study from journal of medicine in 2005 and then 2008 and there are open studies today, have shown to reg...

I would look into organic diet.  Strick.  Also a Dr. Glen Auckerman here in Columbus, ohio deals with nutrition as base line to his treatment.  I am going to his seminar tomorrow here in Columbus from 5-7pm.  I was told he looks at your blood work and then gets you on the path to what your body needs.  I have heard amazing things about him. There are also maximized living facilities that begi...

I was told Tarceva works with certain kind of cancer cell attribute like positive ions?  Look into flax seed meal.  I cannot attest to it personally but am so desperately wanting to try something that will not be poison that may regress cancer tumors.  God bless you.

I thought you initially stated that you were able to live on Tarceva for a year and a half.  So sorry. My husband, stage 4 lung cancer and yes a roller coaster ride.  I am sitting in James Cancer center on day 5 after failed pain management attempts to find out what is the blockage in Gregg's esophogus. He has not eaten in 10 days. IV fluids only and we were told Thursday prior to being admitted that we will...

My husband was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer in March. We thought we caught it early with one brain metastis and successful removal of tumor. We have cancer in lymphodes in chest cavity and it is spreading. Lung is clear with aggressive chemo and radiation that ended in early September. We are in the hospital because it is day 10 without a any nutrition. He is on an IV of fluids. I have much more to say but maybe here I need to note that we have been married 21 years have 2 kids in college, 2 married and due with children of there own, 1 with a great kid of her own and 1 graduating high school. And we are fighting for our lives like you. With that, I am a Christian and God is still in control. We have been told that the cancer has progressed to a point where we cannot start Tarceva and met mab clinical study. so they thought we could get this under control with pain meds and then send us home for hospice. That is all they have to offer here. But I know that the James Cancer center is not GOD. So still here on day 5 with IV with fluids and they finally scheduled EGD to see what the blockage is. Radiation may have caused this blockage. He could have cancer in lymphodes pressing on his esophogus. We find out in the morning. I pray they will be able to be a stint in successfully and we start another clinical study with flaxseed meal. Crazy 2005 and 2008 Journal of Med studies. How unbelievable to me would it be if there is something available to regress his tumors that is not chemo. This is my prayer. I need 30 days and prayer to a God I know hears them for Gregg's life. God bless.
