Hi Carole,  I am an almost 10 year surviver of breast cancer.  Had the chemo and radiation.  Yes, that is a perfect pro-biotic to be on.  And yes, it is quite expensive.  I had C. Diff colitis myself in the early 1990's.  The doctors kept telling me it was irritable bowel.  I knew it was not.  It was something different.  I was hospitalized and almost lost my life before ...

So sorry you must travel down this road.  Blessings for your complete recovery.  With a depressed immune system, oftentimes toxins may live in the GI tract and invade and cause diarrhea.  I would ask your health care provider for a stool specimen test for C. Difficle.  Often overlooked, and may be deadly.  Something you do not want to miss.  Treated with oral long term antibiotics.  ...

Hi CindyOR, So sorry you had to join the ranks of us.  I had stage 2B breast cancer 10 year ago.  No tumor, but found in 3 lymph nodes.  I would get another opinion from another oncolgist, (perfer breast specialist- oncologist).  I had the nodes under my arm stripped out with the surrounding tissue, five months of chemo with Paxal and Taxal.  6.3 weeks of chest wall, full breast, superclavic...

I will just share my experience and you can take what you want from it.  I am sorry your doctors aren't more aggressive in finding out what is wrong with you.  If you have a teaching hospital or large medical center near you, I would go see one of the doctors that are on staff there.  Eight years ago I had one enlarged node under my left arm, showed up during a mammogram, (digital) - I went outside my ...

I am an 8 year surviver.  If I were in your situation I would insist on a breast MRI.  Good luck.  Blessings,  Bonnie

Bless you all with all your stories.  I don't know if I can contribute to any knowledge here, but I will share my story. And I have always done everything right, by the way.  Never smoked, rare glass of wine, exercised, weight, normal, although about a year before my diagnosis went up to high, but still within my normal BMI.  I took estrogen replacement therapy and estrogen vaginal creams until my dia...

So very sorry for the "bad genes."  I hear you.  I had a brother in law that did everything right too.  A skinny runner, health foods, never any alcohol or smoking and he had esphogeal cancer and died at 43.  I do have a cousin who had breast cancer at 40 and she is alive and well today at 75.   I am so happy for you that it turned out well for you and may you go on and have a healthy life. &...

Dear jgreen4, You sure have had your share of bouts with cancer!  Bless your heart!  It's been 7 years since my breast cancer, which was found, already in my lymph nodes, even after I was checked every 6 months.  I thought, how could this happen?  Right?  I am sure you are thinking how can this keep happening.  I was at a lecture by Dr. Susan Love, in Anaheim a few years ago and she said...

Katie,  I have got to tell you that scanning, whether MRI, CT or whatever, do not tell the entire story.  My MIL had a scan that indicated she had pancreatic cancer.  At surgery they found an ecapsulated sacroma, no chemo or radiation was needed and she is alive and healthy today at age 91!  A biopsy is the only way to tell the story, and even then they may not get a good sample, so I hate to say ...

I was severely burnt too. Nipple turned black and looked like a burnt marshmellow. Hopefully soon we will look back on the radiation they give now and call it barbaric. Anyway, I wore a thin t-shirt and sprayed it with a water bottle. It relieved the pain and burning. I also used Aloe Vera gel. Blessings to your wife for a complete recovery and long And happy life. I am out 6years.
