Thank you for your response. My port has not been flushed out in over a year. After treatment ended my oncologist said nothing so I believe it is no longer functional.

I have my port venous catheter still in after finishing treatment last May. When do I get it removed? My doctors have said nothing so should I tell them take it out?

Anyone else like me. The sound of the radiation robots and the isolation of brachytherapy. Just the thought of being immobilized I with the radiating package inside then hooked up to the computer that delivered treatment. Thinking of it makes me uneasy. Now dealing with after effects and thiink my tumour is growing again

I am almost reaching my 2year survival from stage 2 cervical cancer and believe I am still experiencing chemobrain. I find it difficult to concentrate and have difficulty remembering content that I have just read. I had 12 rounds of two different chemo drugs cisplatin and gemcitabine requiring several transfusions. Anybody else have any similar experiences?

I was just wondering where you are located? I live in Stockton California and I’m 53 years old and have been married for 34 happy years.

I was diagnosed January 12 2017 with stage 1b2 cervical cancer that was deemed inoperable due to the tumor size that was larger than 4 cm. I had a port catheter put in my chest and started radiation and Chemotherapy. Tolerance to radiation was exhausting. Chemo started on Cisplatin which my body could only tolerate 2 rounds and then my creative was 2.8 and my platelet count was under 4. So they gave me transfusions and switched to Gemcitabine which I tolerated better. Then after radiation was done I had brachytherapy. This was done on two separate surgery and it was the worst part of my treatment. It was horrible, both physically and mentally. Did anyone else have this experience?Ever since I cannot stand to use my dilator and have begun to notice vaginal stenosis ??it is now 2019 and doctors say tumor has shrunk. My Pap tests come back abnormal and I continue to be monitored but worry it’s going to come back but grateful to be a Cervivor.
