I’m sorry your husband is having problems but I’m happy he is still here. I am a 42 year survivor of Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I had way to much radiation in 1976, because they didn’t know what dosage to give. I have neck pain, bad posture, and am concerned about head drop. Dr. Michael Stubblefield In NJ is the premier doctor to see for these problems. Look him up. We have “Radiation Fibrosis Syndrome”. He also has ...

Hi Jerry, There is a Hodgkin’s survivor site many of us are on. It’s called Hodgkins Lymphoma/survivors, Late Effects 1960sto 2000s and another one called Living Life After Hodgkin’s. They are both on Facebook. This group also started a website called Hodgkin’s International. I’m sure we could all learn from your experiences. I recently went to Cleveland Clinic for my heart. The doctor was a cardiologist/onc...

Phoenix60, There are many, many HL Survivors on the Facebook sites—I forget the number, but over 1,000. They are from all over the world. Have you checked out the Hodgkin’s International website. They put good articles on about late effects. I am doing well after my surgery. I had a great surgeon and my PT is a friend of my long time partner, who was a Dr. of PT. I hope you are doing well. I have to get a...

Lilianita, No, I did not change my diet, but I usually ate healthy food. I was told if I survived 5 years, I was home free. So, I went on with my life. My husband was killed in a military plane crash soon after I finished radiation. Six months later my son and I moved to Phoenix. I bought a house and still live in it—41 years later. I went back to college, earned a BS in Business and met someone. This was ...

Phoenix 60, Do you live in the Phoenix area? I am a 41 year survivor of Hodgkin’s, IIA, NS. It was found while I was pregnant. I now have late effects, too. My only treatment was radiation. I have had not breast’s removed, have two leaky valves, and just had shoulder surgery for calcification, which I also have in my heart. I live in the Phoenix area. Are you on the Facebook sites for Hodgkin’s? One is Hodgk...

I just received my records from the National Patient Archives in St. Louis. My husband was in AF at time of my Hodgkin's in 1976. I had 4025 rads from July 5--22 to upper thorax--23 treatments. Then I had radiation to aortic and parasplenic nodes--3900rads. Hope this helps. DLynnB

Karen, have you thought about going to Sloan-Kettering in NYC. If I lived closer, I would go there. I went to see Dr. Michael Stubblefield in NJ last summer when I was back for a wedding. He diagnosed me with radiation Fibrosis syndrome and prescribed physical therapy out here. Google him. You can go to the National Cancer website. They list the survivor's clinics in the US. Glad you requested the Facebook si...

Karen, I am being followed by a cardiologist at UCLA, because if I have heart surgery, I want someone who has operated on a radiation patient. I am told by others that the radiation causes adhesions and other problems. Surgery is different for us. I live in the Phienix area, but I am from Catskill, NY. I used to shop in Springfield sometimes. My son-in-law is from the Holyoke area. Happy you found this site, bu...
