HopeForAll2's Recent CancerCompass Activity

  • HopeForAll2 has created a new message board discussion

I read a discussion on Vietnam Veterans diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the VA denying pancreatic cancer was caused by Agent Orange.  Anyone have recent news?  My brother is in same situation.  He's now in Hospice care but he is soldiering onward.

I hope someone has given you information by now!  The CA19.9, according to doctors we talk to, is not a reliable test for cancer.  Our oncologist tends to dismiss the results.  I'm  hopeful your sister has been referred to an oncologist for further tests.  My brother's dr. found a tumor and was then sent for a PET scan.

I encourage you to look at PANCAN.ORG (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) for information.  My brother was diagnosed in 2015 and was fortunate to get into a clinical trial.  Review website for info on Know Your Tumor program.  Please find your fighting spirit about this!

My brother has been on FOLFOX since Dec. 2015.  He had fatigue and lack of appetite.  After 4 mos his CT Scan revealed his tumor had shunk by almost half!  His faith was renewed and he became determined. He's forced himself to eat and move about to regain strength.  It is working, yesterday he was out working in his yard.  I pray that you will find your way through to wellness too!

I am so sorry for your loss.  PANCAN is a wonderful organization!  They helped us out of the panic we fell into when my brother was diagnosed in November.  Thank you for sharing your story.  My prayers are with you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Bless you all.  You've gotten many suggestions but I wanted to share with you my sincere wishes to your family in your struggle.  We began our battle in Nov. with my 68 year old brother.  He is in a clinical trial and doing chemo.  I wish I could say things were going well but it's not.  It's really hard to stay positive for our loved one but really our hope may be all that we have.  Ble...
