Hi kak123, That sounds a little bizarre to me.  My oncologist asked if I wanted to be part of an alternate chemo trial but he explained everything to me.   For me, with everything going through my head from being diagnosed to starting treatment, the last thing I would want to have been doing is to review 2, let alone 3 pamphlets and decide what I wanted.  In my case, with the choice of traditio...

Hi Lee, I just saw your post.  Glad this is taking a positive direction.  Back to your original post, I'm surprised your GP would immediately start talking about you possibly having Cancer.   As I started my journey with this, I felt like I had to pull the possibility of me having cancer out of my ENT.   Did the surgeon say anything about your swollen nodes?   Best you you!

Hi Justlutz, All the advice/comments given so fare are spot on.  Don't read too much into any of these early "issues" your husband is experiencing.   May 2nd was my 4 year mark from my last radiation treatment.  I had 36 rounds of radiation, 2 chemo and no surgery.   Even today, I have massive stiffness on the left side of my neck (where my cancer was located).  I also experience...

Hi All, Been a while since I've been on here.  I just had my 4 year follow up and still cancer free!!   Going through my online records to provide some documents for my new dentist, I came across one of my first visits where my Radiation Oncologist offered me to participate in the RTOG 1016 trial.  Learning at the time that my HPV+ SCC was highly treatable with the "traditional" treatments, I op...

Yes, sad news.  I heard about this the other day.  Jim Kelly was part of my motivation and inspiration.     I was first diagnosed in Feb of 2014.  Being scared to death, wanting to know all I could about this horrible disease, I came across Jim Kelly's battle.  I finished my last radiation treatment on May 2nd2014 and the following month I saw that Jim was considered cancer free.&...

Tanasi, T2N2M0 is a cancer classification, staging and grouping scheme. Link: http://stedmansonline.com/webFiles/Dict-Stedmans28/APP21.pdf To tell you the truth, I didn't know what mine was until I saw people on here refer to their classification of cancer.  I looked my up and it was T1N3, HPV16.

@reissens, Merry Christmas, great present.  I clearly remember my post treatment PET scan and hearing NED.

Feb 2014 I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (HPV16), base of tongue & tonsil cancer. Went through 36 radiation treatments with 2 doses of chemo, I finished all treatment on May 2, 2014. Post treatment PET scan on July 24, 2014. Results came back negative; I entered what they called “watchful waiting”. Went back for 3 month check-up Oct 2014, though my oncology nurse said I need to consider myself cancer free, I think I’m going through survivor guilt.
