Wow, Teresa, never underestimate the power of God! I can't tell you how happy I am for you! Chemo and various treatments are good, but usually only a temporary solution, for so long. With God, taking control, the impossible becomes  possible.  It will be 8 years coming up for me and I know, I'm only here today by the grace of God! Our God is awsum !  Continued blessings Joy

I had this problem during chemo and was told immodium would be my best friend by the oncology nurse. The dietitian told me applesauce and banana would slow things down. I tried both suggestions and this did help but the oncoligist recommended creon and I can tell you, this is something most of us whom have had the Whipple go on for the rest of our lives. For me, it straightened all my digestion problems out.  M...

Hi whipple240, yes it will get much better in due time. You need to take your pain meds consistently as your doctor perscribed. Having a Whipple procedure is a big surgery and takes quite awhile to bounce back. And yes, eating and tiredness are a common problem. You never know when this is going to happen , they just do and altho they only last a couple of minutes, its very scary because it knocks the wind right out of you and the pain is excruciating! I had that happen to me when I was shopping in Walmart and fell right over on the floor. Doctors have no explanatio...

Hi Indiana daughter, my very first chemo was gemcitabine only, and I had this same horrible experience of oily taste in my mouth . I tried the salt and baking soda suggestion but was not very helpful for long. I used to cut lemon pieces and rub on my tongue and this did help some. I lived on ensure with extra calories and peanut butter sandwich from time to time, applesauce and banana, puddings and cream of wheat. I ...

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that 12 year old boy is now 19 years old and in his second year of college! All glory goes to God for all he has done and all he's about to do.
