In October 2001, after a series of external radiation treatments, I received the so-called "seed implantation" of the prostate. At about 18 months, my PSA began to climb - slowly at first - but now is 6.25. My doctor is telling me that there is only one way to correct the situation at this point, and that involves what he calls "Salvage Surgery". He has further informed me that there is a very strong possibility that I will wind up with a colostomy bag and total incontinence of the bladder. Is there no other option? Robert S.
