    I also would insist on you getting seen asap, today you need to take charge and demand answers, from start to finish I went from minor indigestion to a CAT/PET scan and surgrey all within 6 weeks from my local doctor to Georgetown University Hospital in Wash D.C. Good Luck.. Steve

      I had my surgery in March 2013, (56 years old) for myself as your friend I guess my best advise is to allow him to be sick for a while. Even to this day I still have all the things your friend states. I lost 80+ lbs, nausea, sleeping at an angle etc. Take Zofran for nausea, Megestrol Acetate for my appetite, still mostly on a liquid diet.         Had a pic in my arm, (a upgraded IV) gave me a local injection no pain, took about 10 mins. I needed it so I could leave the hospital and still get meds via IV. Simple screw on the IV bag, the pump was set up so that every 12 hours it would pump the IV into the pic connection. I had a home tech that came by and showed me how to use it and had a phone number to call 24/7 if needed. ...

          It has been 4 months since my surgery. I have and still do when I drink coffee or anything else that causes or traps gas. It may be a bit much sometimes but I look at it as releasing pressure.
