Schmidtdvm ; Wow  your story is so encourage, 10yesrs and 5months!!!!! My 28years old daughter has diagnosed AA3 last August, had 90%+ resection, RT and TMZ,  current is on 6mo TMZ treatment. I want to know if you take any supplement after the STD treatment? Have you ever tried Cocktail therapy? Thanks and best wishes. Shell

RE: Mom feeling sad and scared

Hi BTMom

I totally understand your feelings. I feel the same since my 28 years old daughter diagnosed AA(anaplastic astrocytoma)3 last August. Her tumor was very large as well, 90% resection, followed with 6 wks of radiation and chemo. She is on 6 months of chemo now. Doctors at Danna Farber told us for those kind of tumor, it can't be curable but is manageable so think positive. I think your son's one is low grade giolma. There are a lot of People with low grade giolma live in a normal life.

Best wishes!

Happy New Year , Dodger. I am so glad that you are doing great!!. I had quitted my job last Oct so I can focus on taking care of my daughter. It is not easy to be a caregiver. I am pretty sure you will find something you like to do and enjoy your life. It is scary every day to me since my daughter just finished 6 was radiation and TMZ. First MRI in next couple weeks, I have my fingers crossed.

Best wishes

Hi Dodger, how are you Congrats  your 5year survivorship this Month!!!!

Marcelina,Papillary cancer is the most curable thyroid cancer, 98% patients live life time. I had same type of thyroid cancer as you have, and had  surgery to remove both side of thyroid 20 years ago. No any treatment, just on thyroid replacement medication since then. F/U with my Dr. every 6mo, Ultrasound every year after surgery. Check  TSH lever every three month. Now , I only see my Dr. Once a year , ultrasound every two year, TSH level check twice s year. I understand your concern. But don't worry to much. You shall be fine just like me. Make sure your TSH is normal since it too low or too high may affect your mood.

Dear Dodger,

Thank you so much for replying and friend  request confirmation. I had read your reply twice and it really made me feel good. Yesterday was the first day for radiation and chemo. So far so good. We will take your advice. I will let you know how  the progress is. You are a real educator on brain tumors.

Thanks
