I am 51 and have being treated for stage 4 CUP for almost 8 years.  The doctors gave me 3-6 months to live but I am still here and doing pretty well.  It is hard and scary for both me and my family (especially my husband).  It is always nice to talk to other people who have this disease otherwise it can be so isolating. I have a caring bridge account that tells my story and would love to talk to other...

Hey Everyone, I'm still here too :)  Eight years now.  Taxol and Carboplatin stopped working for me and I was changed to Cisplatin and Gemzar.  So far so good.  There has been no drastic improvement but it seems to be holding me right now. I have a local oncologist but I also se Dr. Greco in Nashville.  He is a world specialist in CUP and I know he has some trials going.  Immunotherpy ...

What state do you live in?  At this point I would probably go to the emergency room and try and get treated for the pain and shortness of breath and hopefully the rest. Then I would definitely fine a new ENT.

I have often heard that Vitamin B (all the different ones) can help.

I'm so happy for you!  I know cancer is bad and chemo is bad too but it didn't turn out to be as bad as I imagined.  And honestly (remember it's seven years for me) there have been a lot of good things that came out of this too. My doctors have told me to think of this as a long term illness.  They hope to put me in remission and keep me there as long as possible but they always expect me to have trea...

I really can't say enough about Dr. Greco.  He speaks all over the world.  And when I met him I was really impressed. I actually knew my surgeon, I was an O.R. nurse, and we started out thinking it might be ovarian cancer.  He opened me up thinking he would debulk me but the cancer was every where so he just took some and closed me back up again.   I have alway eaten pretty well, we don't eat ou...

Hi Everyone, I'm Shelley and I was diagnosed 7 years ago at age 42.  My4jewels your reaction to chemo is about the same as I had.  Believe me it does get better.  I think every side effect is worse in the beginning because of all the stress and fear that goes along with a new diagnosis. I have been on weekly taxol and carboplatin and every third week Avastin for seven years now.  I have gone int...

Hi Josh, I have what "they" think MAY BE peritoneal cancer but I am really still classified as Cancer of Unknown Primary because they don't know for sure where it started. I was diagnosed seven years ago.  It had spread all over my abdomen, liver, lungs and pelvis - stage 4.  They gave me 3-6 months.  And here I am!  Still in treatment but still alive.  I was 42. There is a world specialis...

I was diagnosed with a blood clot in the left side of my neck last Wednesday(the same side as my port) and I have been doing daily injections of Lovenox since then.  The swelling has not gone down and has in fact increased some.  How long will it take to go away?

Hi, I'm sorry I just saw this post.  I don't come to this site very often.  I hope you have found the answers you need long before now. I too have Unknown Primary, although it is adenocarcinoma.  I am also stage four and was given 3-6 months to live, in 2007. It was found in my liver, both lungs, all across my abdomen and pelvis.   I'm still here and doing pretty well.&n...
