    Revising my own post to say: My girlfriend has just read this post, and pointed out what my oncologist actually said was there was no chance of surgery with the present diagnosis, she didn't say anything about the future.       Hey, thanks for replying Jayne. It's very early days. Literarly just about to go to bed. 2nd of six rounds of chemo at 8am tomorrow. Radio running in conjunction starting in 3 weeks. I've no idea how this will all go. However, having now got over the initial shock of diagnosis, and planning my new life, I figure if I could get a shot at surgery I'd take it.         Hi, I was diagnosed with SCLC - 9cm tumor, upper left lung, 2 months ago. Attached to lymnph, but no spread. Currently undergoing chemo with simultanious radio coming up. My oncologist told me there is no chance of surgery because of its close proximity to vital organs, and this type of cancer's propensity to spread as a result of surgery.           Hi, I have identical, SCLC in left lung with lymph, except mine is a little larger - 9cm. I was actually diagnosed the same week as you. My one advantage is I'm only 54. On 2nd round of the most powerful chemo regime, with simultaious radio starting in 3 weeks.
