    About 25 years ago I had ovarian cancer, it is assumed now it was HPV positive. My partner got tonsil cancer HPV + 4 years ago and was successfully treated with radiation and chemo. 3 years ago I got vulvar cancer HPV + and was successfully treated with skinning of the vulva tissue.       I had VIN III with a skinning of the vulvar. The healing was awful- like I had sat on a chainsaw. It has been 3 years and I do have itching but not severe and only occasional burning. I find toilet paper really irritates as the skin is dry so I use wet wipes when I use the toilet. Good luck!!

        Nana, My partner has Tonsil cancer and one of her first symptoms was a burning tongue, in addition to a hard lymph node and her teeth felt "tight". The burning tongue has gone on for 8 months and she just finished chemoradiotiuion last week and it persists, at times it is quite severe.           Diana Sorry I did not write more before but was in a rush. I am a nurse practitioner and my partner has tonsil cancer. Ativan has a drying effect on the mouth and a calming effect, and other uses. (My sister, who had ovarian cancer was prescribe it for nausea and vomiting).             We tried everything. Oral swabs help the thrust but the mucus is greatly helped by Ativan. Stops it for several hours.
