Thank you so much for the reply. We are anxious to get this procedure underway and hope for similar results with his current liver mets.

Hello! I’m curious - could you follow up and share your experience if your husband did indeed have the Y90/radioembolization procedure done? My Dad has Stage 4 PC with liver mets and is about to undergo both chemo embolization and Y90 targeted at the liver. I am seeking any info about side effects and results for both procedures. Thank you so much!

Hello, My Dad has been battling Stage IV PC for a year now and done several infusions of both Folfirinox and Gem/Abraxane. For a while, his panc tumor and liver mets were consistently shrinking. However, our latest scan showed “stable” conditions — no shrinkage but no real growth AND the main mass and a few liver lesions showed a “cystic” ring inside the tumor. We were told we needed to biopsy to make sure the...

Phillip-  Thank you for this wonderful information. My Dad has panc cancer with liver mets. How can one tell if their liver lesions are "CEA-expressing"? We've done the "Know Your Tumor" testing and have his mutations listed, but I don't see any info on his report related to CEA. Thanks for your help! Andrea

Hello, DavesGirl- I want to offer encouragement and hope! My Dad was diagnosed with PDAC with liver mets and just completed round 10 of 12 planned Folfirinox infusions. So far, we've scanned for progress twice: once after Round 4 and again after Round 8. Our first scan showed the mass in the pancreas had shrunk significantly and the liver spots were stable (no growth). The second scan after Round 8 was even more pro...

Update: My Dad has finished three rounds of Folfirinox and the Doctors have said we will scan after the 4th to check progress (next month). As a reminder, he doesn’t have the CA 19-9 blood marker so we truly have no idea how effective the chemo has been so far. Super nervous for scan results in a few weeks but ask God every day to allow the treatment to cleanse his body of this horrible disease. As many of you kn...

Hello Gill08. So sorry you and your Dad have to deal with this awful disease. Thanks for your reply. Glad to hear your Dad didn't have too severe of side effects. My Dad battled nausea the worst, but we think we have it under control now with meds (finally). He has only had one round so far. They started him on 3 parts of the 4-part combo: 5FU, Oxaliplatin and Irinotican. They kept the leucovorin off for this on...

Hi angelique17: So sorry to hear about your mother. I've read a lot about removing oxaliplatin from the Folfirinox combo on these forums and am interested to know how effectiveness is impacted. Please keep us updated on how it goes for your Mom. Also, how long was she on the full Folfirinox mix? Did you see successful results?

40 months?? WOW. Thank you for sharing your hope with others! My Dad (61) was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma with liver mets last month. He had NO symptoms at all, not even the blood markers. We were SHOCKED when the biopsy came back positive for cancer. I've read your posts and shared them with my Dad to inspire him. He's currently getting Folfirinox chemo and tolerating it fairly well, considering. We can control hi...

I am so so sorry to hear of your situation. This is a terrifying disease, no doubt. I don't mean to scare you further but I want to be honest. My Dad (61) was recently diagnosed with adenocarcinoma cancer in his pancreas with mets to the liver. He had NO symptoms - no jaundice, no gray stools, his blood work even came back normal and free of any cancer markers. We were STUNNED when a biopsy confirmd our worst fears. ...
