Hi Catseye, no need to suffer from pain at all.  Unfortunately my hubby passed on 8/11/15 but he didn't suffer from pain at all.  I would ask him if he had pain...he always said no, but I had to watch for his behavioural changes and would give him a doze.  Make sure your medical team supply you with something.

Hi Prayin!  Unfortunately Joe lost his battle on the 8th November.  When he went for his results for his last MRI on 9th September, they told us that was it there was nothing more they could do...go home and we will notify Silver Chain (our home hospice care).  It was devastating to say the least, especially for my husband .... that couldnt have his "magic potion" (that's what he called it!) Magic my f...

Hi everyone, An update on my darling hubby Joe....he lost his battle on Sunday morning (8/11/15) at 5am as the sun came up.  It is less than 16 months since his diagnosis, unfortunately...another statistic.  He was only 60!  We were told 2 months ago there was no more they could do.  I cared for him at home and in the last month I had the help of my dear brother, NCCCP and Silver Chain.  It w...

Hi Susy, Sounds as though your Aunt's GBM is quite progressed.  My husband has been fighting for 15 months since diagnosis. He is only 60 and is where your Aunt is now.  They say it is only weeks he has now.  We tried all the treatment that money could buy. We are thankful it bought him time to see how daughter married but now the inevitable is upon us. Yes there are survivers out there but most had a...

Hi Hana, Thankyou for getting back to me.  I am going to look into the gene test here as I am worried for our children.  We have been helping the hospital out with all sorts of research but they have not come forth with any information unfortunately. My husband has his first op in August 2014, Radiation and Chemo Temozolomide. He finished the treatment in the November and the monster returned and he ...

Hi Hana84, I am sorry that you and your husband are going through this.  We are into our 15th month since diagnosis, but unfortunately no more treatment now.  Can I ask you about the MGMT gene?  How did you find this out?  We were not offered any gene diagnosis here in Perth, Australia and I am very interested about it?  My advise also is to try everything and don't give up hope.  They a...

Hi Krystalbleu, my hubby tolerated 11 doses of Avastin. In Australia we had to pay for the first four infusions (AUD$25,000.00) then the rest were to be covered indefinately. My hubby was SO happy to get the "free" ones!! Unfortunately it stopped working and we were told on 9/9/15 to "go home and enjoy what time you have left"! We got Palliative Care in place (not thinking we would need it so quick). He was gradually...

Hi virgo, is your husband still taking Avastin?  Mine got up to 11 doses. Was receiving it every 3 weeks? Didn't have any issues with BP but earlier on in treatment developed at DVT in his leg and went onto blood thinners.  Unfortunately we are on the downhill run and he is now having Palliative Care at home. This disease sucks!

Hi Survivormode, my hubby was the same.  His aggression came out after his 2nd "debulking" and was prescribed Olanzapine.  Its an antipyschotic and really helped as did the antidepressants.  Stay strong and get yourself some respite and counselling.  At the end of the day, you have to look after yourself.
