        Hi There Sorry to hear about the coughing problems, it will stop, it drove me crazy, I couldn't speak to anyone because I would have a coughing fit. I found walking and breathing exercises helped. It does get better. Hang in there. Alan

          Hi Keela  HavIng the stretch (dilatation ) after the op is quite normal. The restriction is caused by a build up of scar tissue around the join.Most people have to have one or more dilatations done, I have had  round 17 so far as my join was 6mm diameter to start off with,the aim was to get it to 15mm eventually after a series of gentle stretches.               Hi Im 8 months post op( stomach removed as well as portion of eosphegus) 49 when diagnosed) I have to have dilatations done on the join every three weeks or so because of scar tissue forming,i have had around 10 of these stretches done.                 Hi Bev I was sorry to hear about Missy I know how much a part of the family she was to you. It still sounds like you are doing so well with your eating, having a fairly normal diet.You might just need to add a bit of roughage or something to your diet.                       Hi I am 5 months post op ( eosphajectomy ) I have had chemo before and after the op. I have to have repeated dilation to widen scar stricture , going in for 4th one next week. Does anyone know if it's normal to have these so often? The first one lasted 4 days, the next two lasted two weeks.
