Hello all. I joined this site about a year ago when my mom was first diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed on May 6, 2014 & she passed away on August 25, 2014 at the age of 53 (I am 25). I could go on & on about my beautiful mom and how she was my best friend, a mother-daughter bond is special and one of a kind...as they say, no one can or will ever love you like your mother. I've receiv...

I'm so sorry for your loss but you are right, he will always be with you & watching over you. & I do believe that your dream was your dad reaching out to you to let you know he's okay. That's beautiful, his spirit will ALWAYS be with you. Now stay strong, which you are!, & go have the best 4 years of your life. College is exciting, fun, & you'll make some lifelong friends.

Ah no, this breaks my heart. Your dad is obviously wanting to fight this damn thing agreeing to the chemo so you don't give up hope! Never give up your hope!! What chemo is he going to start on? My mom is on Gemzar, she just had her second round of chemo two days ago. So far so good! No side effects from the chemo yet other than being tired a lot more than usual. All you can do is spend time with your dad & be th...

Ah I love hearing stories like your husband's! :) How amazing! Mom does ask occasionally if I ever hear of people surviving this and I'll read her some posts on here of people who are going on +5 years and doing great. I'm hoping that since this is only the second week of chemo that she will get more positive overtime, she's still in shock that she has cancer. She doesn't drink, smoke, she's an active golfer.. it's s...

Thank you for responding! & your brother is so right. I'm hoping that once she gets used to the chemo and all the doctor appointments that she will start getting busy living, she's still in shock & so overwhelmed with everything. & the hard part is I will never understand 100% what she is going through because she is the one with the cancer. But thank you for your prayers!

Hello all. I've posted before when I first found out that my mom has pancreatic cancer and although this is only the very beginning things are getting so hard. Mom is only on her second week of chemo & she is not doing well.. So depressed. We are a very strong family & my dad and I have been trying our hardest to get her out of the house & to keep doing things that she loves while she has the strength but she would r...

I read this & immediately felt the need to reply since I wrote a message very similar to this about a month ago. My mom is also 53 & has pancreatic cancer. We found out a month ago. Tomorrow will be her second round of chemo. But I know exactly how you feel, it's so scary because you don't think something like this could happen to your own parents. I still can't believe my mom has cancer.. You look at her and she lo...
