Hi, After being on Tarceva 150 mg for over two years, I have progression.  A biopsy showed the T790M mutation, and I am currently awaiting approval for the new drug,Tagrisso, which I hope will come within the week. Tarceva treated my well, the longest lasting side-effect was skin dryness.  I hope the new med will keep the cancer at bay until a cure is found for this awful disease.

KimmieAnne, thanks for responding.  Your long survival on Tarceva is an inspiration!  I just got over a stomach virus which reduced my appetite still further, and it hasn't picked up yet.  I have to force myself to eat.  Luckily, my husband makes sure I get some food into me at regular intervals.  Breakfast is the easiest to handle.  Also, I have periods of nausea, which started months b...

Congratulations! I also had a good scan after teking Tarceva for only 2/1/2 months.  The primary tumor shrunk almost 90% and the small metastases were no longer visible. KimmeAnne, did the side effects lessen during the course of your treatment?  The ones that are bothering me the most are fatigue and loss of appetite.   (This from someone who spent most of her life dieting!) Evidently, the can...

I thought I had posted to this forum a couple of days ago, but can't fnd my posting.  I was diagnosed with lung cancer in July, and the biopsy showed that it was the genetic mutation that responds to Tarceva.  I started taking the pills just over a month ago.  I am a 75-year old woman who has never smoked, and was in good health before this.  The cancer is confined to the right lung, but it has me...
