Hello all: I am 4.5 years out from thyca and TT. I go for my annual ultra sound in June. All has been good, but I noticed a small pea sized lump in front of my ear--- felt it really, and it is tender and a little sore to the touch. I was hoping I could chalk it up to a bug bite, but I don't know. If it is still like this, should I bring it to the surgeon's attention when I go for ultra sound? Anyone have any ex...

Interesting that some think a regular endocrinologist is "okay" to do thyroid biopsies. Always felt a surgeon, or maybe better yet, an Interventional Radiologist. What do the rest of you think? Who did your biopsies? Thanks. BJ

Yes. After two years of constant tearing from both eyes, I had the surgeries two weeks apart. I believe, and have read, it is from the RAI treatment. No doctor ever mentioned this possibility. I think they should. I had the surgeries in 2012, done by a plastic ocular ophthalmologist. Scarring minimal on side of nose. One eye still tears, the other is fine. A lot more to tell you, but good luck. Don't be scared, i...

Hard to believe that no one on this site takes, or has heard of anyone taking Armour Thyroid. Does no one have knowledge of this product? My January 11th post has one reply...is this site just full of Synthroid users????

In addition to feeling blah, cold, depressed, with no motivation, I am tired, and losing hair like crazy. It is almost impossible for me to lose weight. Sounds like a lot of us, doesn't it?

I am three years out since my TT.  I have gone up down and all around with "how I am feeling." I switch between 125mcg and 137mcg of Synthroid, but I am sick and tired of feeling "cold" all the time, and just not feeling "right." I have been reading on line about a woman named Gail who has a blog. In it she cites chapter and verse about the benefits of using Armour or something called Westoid, which both are nat...

YES, YES AND YES.... I have damaged salivary glands, I cannot eat crackers, dry bread, potato chips, etc. They all are dry in my mouth, and have no taste. Plus it is hard to swallow some of them because there is no salivary moisture.  Also, and more troublesome, are my eyes. Constant tearing, infections because of blocked tear ducts....I am now readying myself for surgery on bilateral blocked tear ducts. Good lu...

Readying myself for surgery for bilateral blocked tear ducts. I have been hoping for a miracle...that they would clear up and be "normal" again on their own. No such luck. I have waited a year and a half, and believe the damage done by the RAI for THYCA, and the suppressed TSH are responsible. I am looking to hear from others who have had surgery that goes through the outside of the nose....on each side...and ha...

I never had too much of a  problem with sleeping, but now I do. TT in '09, last summer I was dropped from 137mcg to 125mcg of Synthroid because my free T4 was high and I was experiencing symptoms, i.e. palpitations, sleeplessness, eye tearing... I want to be able to sleep, as I am physically tired and feel so, but usually I am unable to stay asleep, and so do not get unbroken sleep. How do others solve this prob...

Thank you for the encouragement. I have gone through three unpleasant diagnostic tests for the tearing. The surgery sounds risky and awful...and there are no guarantees (*oh boy!). I am now using cortisone drops, which carry risks of their own... I need some input so I can decide. Thanks for helping. Good Luck....
