My oncologist says most people take about 6 months to get back to normal so hang in there!  I think every cancer patient has fears of it coming back.  Treat aggressive cancers aggressively.  Better chance of beating the odds!

Hi Roxyhawk.  Still here and doing better.  Side effects were bad enough that the Dr. reduced the dosage by 25% (part of the protocol) and it's much more tolerable.  I have one more infusion then will be scanned again and hopefully all will be well.  Feeling better and hopeful.  Best wishes on your journey.  Write again if you need or want to!

Dear Soup52:   I was 63 when I had my clear cell endometrial cancer.  Nearing 65 now, and mid-point in my 6 treatments with doxirubicin.  With my first chemo with Carbo and Taxol, I was able to keep working 3 days a week without any problems.  The radiation took its toll by it's last week.  THis chemo is harder but after reading everyone's comment about drinking alot of water, I'm going to up...

I'm also concerned that once the oncologist starts you on a treatment regimen, they might as well phone in their office call because they don't further discuss options, outcomes or real issues/answers.  Paying for a visit that is basically a rah rah session serves only the Dr. to be brought up to speed on how I'm doing, not the other way around.  I shouldn't have to pay hundreds of dollars for encouragement...

Thank you.  So, it will get better then?  Not fun but at least I'm encouraged.

Any help out there for the side effect to Doxil of mucositis?  The mouth and tongue are really sore making eating, even brushing teeth very difficult.  I have Magic Mouthwash but since the directions say every 4-6 hours, there's alot of time still suffering.  Any other advice from patients who have had Doxil?

I took Colace to help with the constipation.  Yes, after the chemo was done, I had PET and CT scans.  THey have them every 3 months until you've been clear for 2 years.

My chemo experience was manageable, only the neuropathy got worse and most of it went away after treatment stopped.  I had external radiation which was a treat! but now am starting more chemo with Doxil on Wed.  Gotta really tackle this clear cell!

Dear Missouri Navy Mom,  I was diagnosed with clear cell carcinoma of the endometrium in Nov. 2014.  I had 6 cycles of carboplatin and taxols which I tolerated pretty well after the first 6 days wore off.  Hair loss and neuropathy were my greatest complaints but the Neulasta shot kept me perking along okay.  The cancer came back in the abd. where the tumor was removed within 6 months.  I've h...
