Hi wanbli, I looked on the internet under tonsil cancer to find images. There are a variety of pictures of tonsil cancer. When I looked at my tonsil I saw a mesh like growth that had appeared more red with a few slightly white spots. The growth looked like it had pushed thru the opening in the skin. I saw a few pictures that looked almost identical to what I had. That being said, I did not diagnose my cancer, but whe...

I had Stage 3(HPV) Tonsil Cancer on 1 side and did not have a lump on neck. I had pain there as well as noticing a little blood on my toothbrush. Went to my Doctor who sent me to an ENT Doctor for biopsy. Before biopsy results, I looked with small mirror and could see squamous cell growth. From what I was told my Tonsil Cancer was growing on the inside only and was caught before it had time to have a lump. I had 2 Ch...

Hi Reissens, Just over a year post treatment from stage 3 tonsil cancer. 35 rads/2 chemo/64 years old. I had nerve damage to hands before the cancer(car accident and playing sports).  After treatment symptoms were worse(pain/numbness). It's frustrating when a clerk hands me change and coins fall thru fingers. Over time it has gotten much better. It seemed only natural to lightly rub my hands. I also had pain in...

Sdurnell, Thank you so much for the infortmation. Called my Radiology Nurse about your info. She confirmed your recomendation to get a regular Dentist to get at least annual checkups. She said they didn't recomend trays since I had alot of work done before radiation began and I had no issues and had a complete checkup. She said to continue to brush with fluoride gel at least 3 times a day. Your response helped me to...

It's been a year since my last radiation(after chemo). I have seen on these boards that head/neck radiation may cause tooth loss. For those who have lost teeth, did the erosion start at gum line or from tips of teeth(enamel). I'm 65 and most of my teeth are crowns or implants. Six natural teeth on bottom front. No problems with gums, but a few of those front teeth seem to be wearing down from the tips of teeth. I don...

I hope you made it through last night. I am healing from tonsil cancer, but a number of years ago that stuck food sensation was being caused by esophageal ulcer. Surgery repaired that but I still get that sensation whenever I eat too fast. My Doctor told me to relax whenever I get sensation. Easier said than done when not even saliva stays down. Since radiation caused same sensation on swallowing I have had to eat or...

Hi Nicole, I was so moved by what you had to say. I'm about 1 year cancer free. Most of the stories I have read are about cancer patients being mean to partner/caretaker. The answer is no person on their death bed should do housework with a vomit bucket in hand. I went thru treatment and all side effects living in a single apartment alone. In my 60's. I still get a hard time from a family member on phone that I am n...
