I highly recommend Massachusetts General hospital's Pancreatic Cancer Center. It is one of the best in the world, 617-724-4000. Dr. Carlos Fernandez del Castillo performed my surgery. You will need much prayer support, determination and quality care. Send me a private message if you want to talk.

I'm 83. I had a Whipple procedure March 2013. The recovery has been tough. I still get extremely tired and can only be up for maybe six or seven hours a day. The good news is there's no sign of a recurrence of the cancer. I live entirely on Social Security. I get no other benefits like food stamps telephone or any other services that most illegal immigrants get (i'm a US citizen.). Can anybody advise me on where I...

Thanks Jimmie I was prescribed gabapenten for neuropathy after a surgery after the Wipple to remove granulomas that developed from undissolved sutures from the Wipple. Mystery resolved!

I had proton radiation, presurgery chemo, a Wipple procedure, six months of post surgery chemo. I'm declared free of pancreatic cancer. However I seem to be developing female breasts. My nipples are very tender and that area is enlarged. I told my oncologist and radiologist about it and they don't seem to think it's anything. Has anyone else experienced anything on these lines.

I had a Whipple on March 8, 2013. After recovery it was followed by six months of chemo. My doctor first prescribed Creon 12,000, 1 with each meal. That's 6/day since I'm supposed to eat six small meals a day. I had diarrhea and lost significant weight ( 37 pounds). My dietician at MGH had me increase tne Creon to Creon 24,000 6/day. This stopped the diarrhea but I still had loose floating stool that was very greas...
