  I am sorry to hear that you are battling a cancer. I wish you well! There is one thing that the VA regards very highly: a statement from your doctor which says that your cancer "is as likely as not" caused by your service in Iraq, or the specifics of you MOS.   Mary, The first thing you should do is see if you live close to a VA hospital or Outpatient Clinic. The all have Veteran's Service Groups Reps. You will want one of them to become your advocate. They will assist you if filing a Claim. I know you are overwhelmed right now, but do not delay in filing.   My husband was a Combat Corpsman, on a LST in the Mekong Delta and Bassac River. He was there May 69 to May 70. Part of his duties were to go into the villages along the river to give medical aid.   I found this message board while looking for VA approved claims for cholangiocarcinoma. My husband, a Vietnam Vet died in July from it.
